Overview
The Margaritaville Atlanta is part of the Wyndham Timeshare properties. It is a large, twenty-two-story hotel adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park, in the heart of Atlanta. The resort has a public restaurant and bar on the first floor, a guest bar by the swimming pool, and an owners’ lounge.

Located near entertainment and dining, Margaritaville Atlanta is a great base for a visit to Atlanta. As with most Wyndham city resorts, there is a parking fee. For this location, it is an eye-watering $60 per night.

The rooms
I stayed in a studio unit. They have one- and two-bedroom units, as well as two- and three-bedroom Presidential Reserve units. The studio was more than enough for a solo traveler and would accommodate a couple with ease. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, and a two-burner stovetop. I did not cook anything during my stay; I can’t review the utensils. It did have a Margaritaville maker.

There were plenty of receptacles allowing me to keep everything I carry charged up. I had no fault with the room. While there were no drawers, the closet had shelves.

The bathroom was huge, especially for a studio.

Owner’s Update
If you are a timeshare owner, you know about the dreaded ‘owner’s update,’ a code word for a sales pitch. Margaritaville Atlanta is no different. I feel they are a bit on the aggressive side. My thirty-minute update turned into three hours where I learned nothing new, except that I am a P1 owner, which means I get the full press attack. I saw a sales rep. Then straight to a director, skipping a manager. When I thought they had finally accepted my “no,” I met a customer service person who wanted to make sure I knew what I was refusing. Then her supervisor jumped in.
All in all, grueling. These sales meetings cost you at least one day of your vacation. I don’t know what is worse: maintenance fees and their growth or attending owners’ updates. Both are part of timeshare ownership.
