Known as the Garden Island, Kauai, the westernmost of the large Hawaiian Islands, offers much. Besides the natural beauty. There are three National Botanical Gardens (The Limahuli Garden on the North Shore and, on the South Shore, the Allerton and McBryde Gardens), native archaeological sites, food trucks, chickens, and a whole lot more. It is also more laid-back than other islands in the chain. There is plenty of natural beauty, from the beaches to the mountains, the canyon (known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific), and the famous Napali Coast. Kauai has a laid-back style that is very different from Oahu. There are plenty of locally owned hotels and restaurants that compete with the big chains. It is well worth a visit.
